In an SAP System the Application Link Enabling (ALE) is one of the core integration technologies. Click on the process code and press F4 to get the process codes available in the SAP system. To define the process code: Click on the message type in inbound parameters. The message type can be linked to the process code. The process code contains the details of the function module that are used for IDoc processing. A DELJIT message is an electronic planning schedule sent from the customer to the supplier. The EDIFACT DELJIT (DELivery Just-In-Time) message is used to describe short term delivery information and Just-In-Time scheduling requirements. An Outbound IDoc is triggered through document message control to the EDI subsystem. An IDoc coming into an SAP system is called an Inbound IDoc, while an IDoc going out of a system is called an Outbound IDoc. Types of IDocs IDocs can be triggered in the SAP system or in the EDI subsystem. What are the different types of IDoc in SAP? IDoc segments contain the actual data that is sent to or received from a partner. IDoc Types are based on the EDI standards and mostly on EDIFACT standards. Once received they will know what is being received on that specific delivery. This data is converted into the customer’s required EDI DESADV structure via an EDI solution and sent. DESADV messages are generated via a supplier ERP system in their own ERP specific data format, such as SAP IDoc.
